In another big change, Twitter is set to roll out ads free subscription model. The announcement was made by Elon Musk through his tweet on Saturday. He said that steps are being taken to address the issues of frequent ads on Twitter.

“Ads are too frequent on Twitter and too big. Taking steps to address both in coming weeks,” tweeted Elon Musk.

Since Musk took over Twitter in October, it underwent as series of changes starting with firing about half of the company's workforce.

“Also, there will be a higher priced subscription that allows zero ads,” tweeted Musk.

With this latest update, this would be a radical change in business model. Twitter had relied so far on targeted advertising to generate revenue before it launched the paid subscription service in December.

Earlier, Musk said that his strategy was to massively reduce costs while building up revenue, and that a new subscription service called Twitter Blue--grants users a sought-after blue verification tick for a free--would help reach that goal, reported AFP.

The service costs $11 a month in the United States. Twitter Blue is currently available in the US, Canada, Britain, New Zealand, Australia and Japan.

Musk also revealed that Twitter will soon be translating and recommending tweets from people in other countries and cultures. The announcement was made by the Elon Musk in his tweet on Saturday morning. Musk also said that the next update on the micro blogging platform will be to stop switching users to recommend tweets from their custom settings.

Tweets will be translated before being recommended, he added his tweet.
