Twitter users have been reporting a massive global outage. Thousands of users were unable to access the website and its features. After hours, Twitter is back online.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk had tweeted that "significant backend server architecture changes rolled out. Twitter should feel faster."

According to reports, the site has been down at around 11 am Thursday AEDT or 7 pm Wednesday EST or 6.05 am IST with outages most commonly reported on the website rather than the app.

Over 10,000 users reported issues with accessing the social media website in the United States as of 7:40 pm ET. Some users also complained that their Twitter notifications were not working, Reuters reported.

Twitter's homepage url is getting redirected to https://twitter.com/logout/error.

"Twitter is experiencing international outages affecting the mobile app and features including notifications; incident not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering," The London-based internet monitor Netblocks said in a tweet.
