Apple has come out with its latest iPhone―the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple, Samsung and Google are all in a tight race to come out with the best flagship phone every year. The race is tight in every department albeit one―pricing. Apple is miles ahead of its competitors when it comes to pricing which has reached exorbitant levels. The iPhone 11 and its variants have come out with a better camera, but does it justify the hefty price tag?

According to a recent report by picodi.com, it would require an average Indian over two months (66.7 days) to save up for the new iPhone 11 Pro 64GB version. The study looked at the average salary of people across countries to calculate the time a person would need to save up to get their hands on the new iPhone.

“With an average salary of Rs 31,464.8, a statistical Indian would have to work for 66.7 days to afford this year's iPhone (not counting living expenses),” the reports said.

Switzerland tops the chart with an average Swiss needing just 4.8 days to get their hands on the iPhone 11 pro, while Americans need 5.8. Complete list of the report is shown below.

The methodology and data source used for the report by picodi is as follows: “The iPhone Index 2019 has been calculated on the basis of iPhone 11 Pro prices announced publicly on local Apple or authorised seller websites. The average salaries come from the countries’ official ministry or statistical office pages. In the absence of official up-to-date information, the average wage is based on Numbeo data for August 2019. We divided the monthly wages by 21―the average number of workdays in a month.”
