According to Market Research, The India lingerie market size is expected to reach US$ 8.2 Billion by 2028, exhibiting a growth rate (CAGR) of 10.9% during 2023-2028. The increasing awareness and availability of lingerie offline and online has accentuated the sale. One such Lingerie Brand is Kamuk Life, started by Abhishek Gupta with an aim to champion the industry with his ideas and expertise.

This market has taken a big leap also because now men have also started showing keen interest in the selection of lingerie for their partners and themselves too. Men don’t shy away from purchasing a couple lingerie sets anymore. They don’t find it feminine anymore.

Since the inception of KamukLife, Abhishek had to face multiple bottlenecks, they had to import foreign lingerie and that took a lot of money, until they got their own manufacturers in India. Moreover, most of the lingerie was imported from and the quality was not satisfactory. Later on the pandemic hit the entire globe and became a major game changer, where they completely stopped importing from foreign countries.

Another problem was that the customers wanted discreet packaging and it was difficult to make them have their trust on the brand that the parcel would be absolutely white with no details except name and address. But within a year, all the issues were resolved and challenges became a way to grow and strengthen the company.

According to Abhishek Gupta, Founder, KamukLife ,“Coming from a family of successful business men, I always wanted to own a business with the idea to crack a less explored territory in business. At the same time, since I did my engineering and had been fairly successful in some pilot projects, I didn’t want to leave my field. With time, when online businesses took a lead, I carved my way and did a full-time job as an engineer and pursued business online in the evening,”

He further concludes,“While going through the plethora of sites and analysing the customers’ demand, I concluded that the high-end lingerie category was being yearned by many women, who didn’t feel comfortable stepping into retail shops and asking for one. This was the time when I travelled abroad for my company where I worked. On my trips to countries like China and found exciting lingerie stuff that could be brought back to India and, eventually be manufactured here. And then the real work began. This was the inception point of KamukLife,”

The road map to change the industrial approach is almost ready. KamukLife targets various social media platforms to explore the unattended territories of customers. They also plan to enter the retail market in future.

“We plan to evolve from being a start-up to a full-fledged business, ruling over the Lingerie industry. The growth and journey till now have been very progressive and positive. But the market demand has increased a lot, and to keep up with the increased demand, we plan to have more manufacturers looped in,” concludes Abhishek.

Kamuk Life has become a trustable and reliable brand in the online lingerie and intimate wear section. The focus is on introducing a great range of BDSM kits and other new lingerie and costumes. Kamuklife plans to introduce a few sexual well-being products too. Also, in the pipeline the plan is to launch their range in some of the best retail stores across the nation.

According to Abhishek,“A major achievement we have achieved is the approval of the Patent of Ozone Cleaning Technology. As we all are aware of the benefits of ozone gas, Kamuklife made it a point to use this as a disinfectant process for all its products. With the help of ozone clean technology, each piece is treated with ozone gas and delivered bacteria, virus and odor free to its customers. All the products are put in a dark cleaning chamber which has ozone gas, where the ozone sticks to the bacteria, viruses or other contaminants that got onto the fabric during manufacturing and other processes. Here, all the unwanted contaminants get eliminated and the ozone is oxidized into air. The entire cleaning process leaves the products bacteria-virus free and odor free too,”
