New Zealand were 21/2 in 5 overs at lunch in the second day of the second cricket Test against India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.
Stand-in captain Ross Taylor (2) and Henry Nicolls (1) were together at the break.
India were earlier bowled out for 316 in their first innings.
