Boxer Vijender Singh strongly condemned the attack on an army base at Uri in Kashmir on Sunday and slammed Pakistan for supporting terrorists across the border.

“If Pakistanis have chosen war, let's go for it,” said the Beijing Olympic bronze-medallist on Twitter.

Terrorists sneaked into the camp and slaughtered 17 soldiers in the worst attack on a military centre in the state in a decade.

Over two dozen soldiers were also injured in the audacious attack. All the four heavily-armed militants who barged into the camp at 5.30 am were killed in the gunbattle, military officials said.

Star cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted that terrorism must be answered appropriately. He said the attackers at Uri are terrorists and not rebels.
