CRPF man killed in Srinagar militant attack; 2 non-locals shot at in Pulwama

Militants have increased targeted attacks in the region

Militants on Monday carried out targeted attacks on two CRPF personnel in Srinagar and two non-locals in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. One of the CRPF men, identified as Vishal, later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital while the other jawan is said to be stable.

The incident, which took place at Maisuma close to Lal Chowk in Srinagar, has created fear in the area. Police and CRPF teams have reached the spot to look for clues to identify the attackers. 

In Pulwama, two non-locals were targeted by militants at Lajurah in the second such incident in the district in the last 24 hours.

The victims were identified as Patlashwar Kumar and Joko Chowdary of Bihar. Kumar received a bullet injury in the right arm while Chowdhary suffered injuries in the right arm and right leg.  

The area has been cordoned off by the security forces.

On Sunday evening, two non-locals were shot at in Nowpora Litter area of Pulwama. Militants have increased targeted attacks on political workers and security officials the region.
