Telugu television anchor K. Nirosha committed suicide by hanging herself on Wednesday morning in her hostel room in Sindhi Colony in Secunderabad.
She suspected to have taken the extreme step following a heated augment with her boyfriend in Canada during a Skype call.
According to reports, the police received a call from Nirosha's Canada friend informing about her attempts to kill herself. However, when police reached her hostel, she was already dead.
The 23-year-old, who hails from Chittoor, had been anchoring entertainment shows for Telugu channel Gemini Music for the last few months. Before that she had worked as a reporter with several Telugu channels.
Her body was taken to Gandhi hospital and an investigation to find out actual reason that led the victim to take the extreme step is underway.
A case has been registered under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code.
