The 42-year-old woman, who strangled her son, hacked and burnt his body in Kerala's Kollam district on Monday, was presented before the court on Friday amid high drama. She admitted before the court that she alone had killed her 14-year-old son Jithu Job. A huge crowd had gathered at Paravur court premises when Jayamol was brought before the judge. Anticipating trouble, the police had beefed up the security around the court complex.

The woman told the court that the police had bashed her up but she said she did not have any complaint against them. The police are yet to find the motive behind the murder. She had claimed that property dispute is behind the murder but cops don't trust her statement.

The burnt and mutilated body of Jithu, son of Job T. John of Kureeppilli, Nedumbana, was found in a banana plantation on Wednesday evening. The hands, a leg, a foot and neck were chopped into pieces. The portion below the knee on one leg was splintered. The face was entirely burnt.

Though Jayamol had said the boy's comments on property dispute between her in-laws had led to the murder, the police are taking it with a pinch of salt.

It was suspected that some statements made by the teenager had angered her, leading to the murder. The police plan to question her husband, father-in-law and other relatives for more leads.

Undeterred before police interrogation

A large crowd had assembled before her house, when Jayamol was brought for evidence gathering on Thursday. However, Jayamol was not perturbed over the crowd presence as she led the cops to the kitchen, where the murder allegedly took place. She explained in detail how she pushed the boy off the kitchen slab and strangled him with her shawl.

She also took the cops to the spot where the body was burnt and showed them how the body was disposed of. She also showed the police how she scaled the wall after dumping the body in the banana plantation.
