A cab driver allegedly tried to rape an airhostess in Hyderabad. The incident took place in the wee hours of Tuesday, police said.
The woman had stepped out of her house at around 2am for running some errands. The cab driver approached her and offered to take her wherever she needed to go. But instead he took her to an isolated area and tried to rape her. When she resisted he assaulted her and stole her mobile phone and drove away.
he woman works with a private airline. The cab driver was identified after police scanned some available CCTV footage. Deputy Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh said a case of robbery and attempt to rape was registered. He informed that they have formed five special teams to nab the driver. He would soon be arrested, assured the police officer.
