Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai threatened to chop off the “finger or hand raised” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He issued this warning in the presence of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and several other ministers.

According to media reports, the Lok Sabha MP from Ujiyarpur, who was addressing a rally in Patna, spoke about the PM Modi's journey from humble beginnings to the post of prime minister. Noting that PM Modi overcame several obstacles to be where he is now, the MP said his story should be a source of pride for every Indian.

PM Narendra Modi par agar koi aankh uthata hai to unki aur uthne waali ungali ko, uthne waale haath ko…hum sub milke…ya to tod dein, zaroorat pari to kaat dein (roughly translated as: if anyone dares to question the prime minister, we should try to break his/her finger or chop the hand off if needed).

When contacted by Indian Express, Rai attempted to clarify his claim saying he only used the expression of "chopping hands" to convey the message that there is a need to deal strongly with anyone who rises against the country's security and pride.
