Drake surpasses Adele, becomes biggest single year BBMA winner ever

Drake was the big winner at this year's Billboard Music Awards!

The 'One Dance' hitmaker took home a whopping 13 wins total, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist, and many more. 

The 30-year-old beat Adele, who in 2012, earned 12 titles on the strength of her epic '21' album.

"I got my whole family up here, look at my dad looking all sharp! I got the man responsible for being here, the love of my life," a triumphant Drake told the crowd while accepting the Top Artist trophy. "Hold tight, Adele!"

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards honoured the top-charting artists from 2016-17. The rapper also performed on Sunday night, on a platform set up inside the Bellagio Hotel fountains, framed by synchronized bursts of pyrotechnics. 

Beyonce was named best female artist, best R&B artist, and best touring artist, while Twenty One Pilots was selected as best duo/group and top radio artist, just to name a few.
