What happens when you are a style diva and your sister an influential stylist? You end up starting your own label. Stylish sister duo, Sonam and Rhea Kapoor will soon launch their high-street label, Rheson. The label which will be available at all Shoppers Stop outlets across the country, will surely give a lot of girls a reason to shop. The label will be launched on May 12. In the meantime, here are some other celebrities who dabbled with designing.
Deepika Padukone: The beautiful actor has always been flooring us with various stylish looks on the red carpet and several events. Deepika has collaborated with Van Heusen for a collection in April 2014. She also launched her own label—All About You—and made it available on sites like Jabong and then Myntra.
Bipasha Basu, Susanne Khan, and Malaika Arora Khan: This stylish trio launched a home and clothing label—The Label Life. The trio have thrown together an interesting mix mix of home décor pieces, clothing and accessories. Each piece also has styling options given with them. An online portal, The Label Life, delivers to all major parts of the country currently.
Hrithik Roshan: Everyone knows about Hrithik Roshan's dedication to fitness. To the thrill of fitness buffs and Hrithik Roshan fans everywhere, the actor launched HRX, a sportswear brand. Initially, the brand targeted only men, but expanded to include women's wear as well.
Salman Khan: Now, Salman may not exactly be a style icon, but he does contribute regularly to many charities. And one of the ways he makes sure that these charitable organisations are supported is, by launching a casual wear brand, Being Human. The proceeds from sales of Being Human go to many of the charities that Salman supports.
Mandira Bedi: Who isn't fond of this sassy TV anchor's style? Especially those beautiful sarees with sexy blouses. So it wasn't a surprise when she decided to launch her own label called Mandira Bedi Designs of sarees in 2013. The collections feature some bold designs, just like the actor herself.
Shilpa Shetty: Here's another actor who channelled her style sense into a label. The svelte actor launched her own collection of sarees with the Home Shop 18 label, calling it SSK brand. And true to her personal style, these are known to have a modern twist.
Other collaborations: Though not launched their own labels, yet, these celebrities have collaborated with brands for collections. Director Karan Johar collaborated with Vero Moda for the Marquee collection in September 2014 and in 2015, the label collaborated with actress Kangana Ranaut for an edgy party wear collection under the same name. Youngster Alia Bhat, too, collaborated with Jabong for a fun collection in 2015.
