The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Thursday added a former Olympian to its "10 Most Wanted" list for his involvement with drug trafficking and multiple homicides. The agency also announced a $10 million (₹865,989,259) reward for any information on his whereabouts.

Ryan Wedding, 43, goes by many aliases including "El Jefe," "Public Enemy" and "James Conrad King", the FBI sleuths have found out. He represented Canada in the 2002 Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, finishing  24th in parallel giant slalom snowboarding.

Apart from allegedly running a multinational drug trafficking network, Ryan Wedding also ordered and orchestrated multiple murders, the Associated Press said quoting the FBI. All the murders were related to illegal drug sales and his victims included two members of the same family who fell prey to a case of mistaken identity. The report stated that Ryan Wedding was behind the murder of the Canadian citizens who were mistaken for those responsible for stealing a drug shipment from his gang.

According to the authorities, Wedding's career in crime began by selling cocaine on the streets of several U.S. cities before doing the same in his motherland. His readiness to execute his rivals over gains and revenge in the illegal business makes him a dangerous man, the FBI reportedly said. However, there were no details that directly linked him to the Mexican drug cartels.

Wedding was charged in June with murder and drug crimes. Those charges were augmented in September in an indictment that alleged Wedding and others arranged the shipment of some 60 tons of cocaine a year using trucks to move the drugs between Colombia, Mexico, Southern California and Canada.

In announcing the indictment in October, the FBI said a dozen people had been arrested in connection with the case.
