Israel's Netanyahu says 'cruel propaganda' as Hamas releases new hostage video

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the recent hostage video released by Hamas on Monday as "cruel psychological propanganda". The video shows three hostages captured by Hamas during its attack on October 7.

The three women were identified as Yelena Trupanob, Danielle Aloni and Rimon Kirsht. The women were seen sitting side by side against a wall, with Aloni accusing PM of failing to protect the Israeli citizens.

In the video, Aloni called for an agreement to secure their release in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. "You were supposed to free all of us. You committed to free us all. But instead we are carrying your political, security, military, diplomatic failure," she was quoted by Reuters.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu in a statement said he will make every effort to bring hostages back home.

"Abducted by Hamas, which is committing war crimes, I embrace you. Our hearts are with you and with the other captives. We are doing everything to bring home all the captives and the missing," he said.

This is the second hostage video released by Hamas after the one released on October 17 of French-Israeli women Mia Schem. She was seen injured in the video and being catered by the doctors while being held as a hostage.

Israeli soldier hostage recused from Gaza

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Monday said a soldier captured by Hamas has been rescued from Gaza in an overnight operation. Ori Megidish was captured by Hamas on October 7.

A joint statement by IDF and Shin Bet said Megidish had undergone medical checks and was "doing well".

So far, four hostages were relased by Hamas as Qatar is making mediation efforts. Israelis had claimed over 220 hostages were held by Hamas.
