Despite blanket ban on Dhurandhar, the Ranveer Singh spy thriller continues to be the most discussed topic in Pakistan. Now, a former Pakistani minister has claimed that his character was portrayed inaccurately in the movie.

In the Aditya Dhar directorial, the character of Jameel Jamali is based on former member of Pakistani National Assembly Nabil Gabol, who was the Minister of State for Ports and Shipping. Jamali is played by actor Rakesh Bedi to give physical resemblance to Gabol.

"They did not portray my role properly... They've tried to portray Lyari as a terrorist hub, but Lyari is not a terrorist hub. If one of their agents had come, he wouldn't have left Lyari alive," he told media, adding that some elements were exaggerated for dramatisation.

But, he admitted that he doesn't have enough money seek an international ban. This comes as several Middle Eastern countries have banned Dhurandhar over anti-Pakistani content.

However, in Pakistan, the movie has become an instant hit via torrent downloads. Pakistani users reportedly managed to access piracy links via servers in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, according to a News18 report. These were low-resolution camera prints downloaded from Chinese hosting websites.

Dhurandhar has earned Rs 739.5 crore in 15 days, including Rs 160 crore from overseas screens and Rs 579.5 crore in gross domestic collection. The net domestic collection till Day 16 has crossed Rs 500 crore, as of 6 pm, reported Sacnilk.
