Hamas said it fired anti-tank missiles at Israel's invading forces on Tuesday after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said a ceasefire "will not happen".
“Israel will fight until this battle is won,” Netanyahu said, adding that “calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism... this will not happen.”
The al-Qassam brigades, Hamas' armed wing, said it fired at Israeli forces invading the southern Gaza with machine guns, according to Reuters. The militants claimed that four vehicles were targeted with the locally produced anti-tank al-Yassin 105 missiles.

The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees told a UN emergency meeting that an immediate ceasefire has become a matter of life and death for millions of Palestinians, according to Reuters.
Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, warned that a further breakdown of civil order will make it extremely difficult for the largest UN agency in Gaza to continue operating. This comes after civilians looted the agency's warehouses to find food and other aid.
More than 8,300 people have been killed so far, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health. About 66 per cent of these were women and children, according to UN body.
