Thousands of gamers reported that the popular online gaming platform Roblox was down. They said the site was showing them error codes while they tried to log in to play on Friday.
According to data from Down Detector, about 29,000 reports came in from the United States on Thursday night saying they faced a problem accessing the website. About 65 per cent of users faced issues on the website, 25 per cent reported server connections, and 10 per cent reported issues with the gameplay.
Roblox issued a statement saying that they were "investigating an issue preventing users from accessing the website."
The cause of the site’s outage has not been verified.
Downdetector showed that the most affected areas were Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.
Gamers took to social media to post about the issues. Many players said they were met with an error code 9007 when they tried to access Roblox.com. Users also noted that it was the website that had the error. Mobile and app users were unaffected.
Weboste access was the issue reported the most.
One player said, “Never seen Roblox down like this before”. One gamer who was upset complained, “Roblox is down im gonna cry I just wanted to play some royale high”.

Some gamers speculated that the site went down after the platform tried to remove the chat platform Guilded. A netizen posted on X, “Roblox just killed Guilded and took itself down with it.”
Guilded, a site similar to Discord, was acquired by the gaming platform in 2021.

Roblox is an online gaming platform that lets users program and play games created by themselves or others. It was created by David Baszuki and Erik Cassel and was released in 2006.
