Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, deleted a post denying Holocaust. The social media platform took down the post three days after Auschwitz Memorial slammed X. X initially said that the post did not break any rules. X's policies, however, state that Holocaust denial is prohibited.

The Memorial, on Saturday, August 19, tweeted the image of a 3-year-old, who was among those killed in the concentration extermination camp in Poland. At least 1.1 million people were killed in the camp, of which one million were Jews and over 200,000 were children and young people.

As a reply to the post, a user posted the image of a cartoon of a hook-nosed man with gold coins and a prayer shawl, stating, "I'll make trillions off this fairytale!"

When the memorial flagged the incident, it received the reply, "After reviewing the available information, we want to let you know (the account) hasn't broken our safety policies. We know this isn't the answer you're looking for. If this account breaks our policies in the future, we'll notify you."

The story, however, received media attention and that is when the post was removed. The account that uploaded the offensive post has been suspended. On Monday, the Memorial wrote on X, “When you report a tweet for harassing, 'Holocaust denial' is explicitly mentioned as a reason for reporting. And yet @X @Support responds that such antisemitic, hateful, Holocaust denial post does not break their safety policies.”

Elon Musk, owner of X and a free speech absolutist announced on August 18 that the platform will no longer let users block other users, including those who may harass or intimidate others.
