Ahead of the court-ordered deadline for the $44 billion Twitter acquisition deal, Elon Musk on Wednesday walked into the Twitter office, carrying a sink. He also shared the hilarious video on his handle with the caption, "Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in!"

Hours earlier, the entrepreneur changed his bio to "Chief Twit," reaffirming his decision to take over the company. Twitter too had confirmed that Musk would visit the San Francisco office this week, but declined to comment further.

This comes as reports emerged that banks have started to send $13 billion in cash in support of Musk's takeover of Twitter. The funds will be made available for Musk to execute the transaction by Friday once the final closing conditions are met, reported Reuters.

The Delaware Chancery Court judge had set the Friday deadline after Musk told the court that he would be proceeding ahead with the deal, in a U-Turn. Twitter, however, wanted the court to remain involved.

It was in April that Musk first hinted his decision to buy Twitter. He reached a deal to buy the microblogging platform for $44 billion and take the company private. Musk had then said that he wanted to own and privatize Twitter because he thinks it was not living up to its potential as a platform for free speech.

However, he walked back on his word in July, opting out of the deal citing spam and fake accounts on the social media platform.   He also accused the company of refusing to give him information about its spam bot accounts.

It was then that Twitter sued Musk to force him to complete the deal. The Musk-Twitter legal dispute went on trial in October, but during the trial, Musk decided to go through with his original proposal to buy Twitter for $44 billion.

Twitter too confirmed it, saying it intends to close the transaction after receiving Musk’s offer.
