Iranian filmmaker Babak Khorramdin was allegedly murdered by his family after an argument with his father over his unmarried status. Khorramdin’s dismembered remains were on Wednesday. His body parts were put in suitcases.
Khorramdin had returned home from London, where he was working. After graduating from the University of Tehran with a master’s degree in cinema, he had moved to London. Khorramdin’s father confessed to drugging his son before stabbing him. He said that he took Khorramdin’s body to the bathroom with the help of his wife, where they cut him into pieces. They then threw some of them into a suitcase, discarded it a trash can and discarded the remaining parts in three trash cans, Mohammad Shahriari, head of the Tehran Criminal Court told Arab News.
Khorramdin had made short films like Crevice, Hole and Oath to Yashar.
Both parents have been detained by the police, who are still investigating the case. More evidence of the crime was found at the family’s home.
