At a recent segment of Fox and Friends hosted by Ainsley Earhardt, Eric Trump talked about the LGBTQ community and how they had come out in support for his father, Donald Trump. "The LGBT community, they are incredible. And you should see how they come out in full force for my father every single day. I'm part of that community, and we love the man,” in response to Eardhart asking him about the ‘secret voters’ or the LGBTQ community.

The second son of the President did not get the response he would have hoped for when he made the statement. Author, actor and activist George Takei wrote on Twitter, “Well at least now Eric Trump can claim his father doesn’t hate him because he’s dumb, he hates him because he’s part of the LGBT community.”

“Gonna be honest, did not have ‘Eric Trump coming out on debate date’ on my bingo card,” tweeted political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen. Earhardt talked to Eric Trump about a lesbian, who talked about being a Trump supporter in a New York Times interview. The woman, who wanted to be identified as Chris, said she was happy with Trump’s economic record, saying her 401(k) plan increased notably in value before the COVID-19 pandemic and that gas prices have gone down. She also admitted that the President had downplayed the pandemic.

Another Twitter user wrote on Eric Trump saying that he belonged to the LGBTQ community, “He probably should have told his wife before announcing it on Fox.” The LGBTQ community did not seem to want to welcome Trump’s second son.

Activist Rob Gill tweeted, “Go away Eric trump we don’t want you.”

Journalist Erica Lenti wrote, “We, the gay committee, have had an emergency meeting and we have rejected Eric Trump’s application.”

Actor Ken Olin tweeted, “Huh. Is he coming out? Does he know what LGBT stands for? Is he high? All of the above?”

President Trump had tweeted a poll conducted by Hornet that said 45 per cent of gay men say they plan to vote for the President.
