Pakistan has decided to celebrate Eid with "simplicity" by getting its television channels not to air any special content on the day, in a bid to express “solidarity” with Kashmiris. As part of the country's earlier decision to observe August 15 as "Black Day", the channels were asked to "project two nation theory, Indian atrocities against Muslims and minorities in India and in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir."

A notification issued by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), dated August 10, reads, “In observance of solidarity with Kashmir… it is requested that No Special Programmes (already recorded or planned live) be aired as Eid celebrations as the same may hurt sentiments of not only our nation but also the Kashmiri brethren”.

The notification also states that August 14 (Pakistan’s Independence day) is to be celebrated as a “Solidarity Day with brave Kashmiris”. The channels were also asked to turn their logos black and white through out the day on August 15.

The notification comes in the wake of India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 and Article 35A, which scrapped special status for Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 8, Pakistan's electronic media regulator had directed news channels to not invite any Indian celebrity, politician, journalist, and analysts in their talk shows for any kind of "comments" and "analysis".

Earlier, Pakistan's National Security Committee (NSC) had decided to downgrade diplomatic relations with India and suspend bilateral trade between the two countries. The country is also considering to approach the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) against India's decision to abrogate Article 370.

"We will fight it at every forum. We're thinking how we can take it to International Court (of Justice)... to the United Nations Security Council," Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said in an address to a joint sitting of Pakistan's parliament.

In a series of tweets on Sunday afternoon, Khan continued his attack on India's move to abrogate Article 370, warning that the policy was influenced by the RSS ideology, which he says is akin to that of Nazi Germany.

"The curfew, crackdown & impending genocide of Kashmiris in IOK is unfolding exactly acc to RSS ideology inspired by Nazi ideology. Attempt is to change demography of Kashmir through ethnic cleansing. Question is: Will the world watch & appease as they did Hitler at Munich?"

Khan added: "I am afraid this RSS ideology of Hindu Supremacy, like the Nazi Aryan Supremacy, will not stop in IOK; instead it will lead to suppression of Muslims in India & eventually lead to targeting of Pakistan. The Hindu Supremacists version of Hitler's Lebensraum."
