One of the most talked about incidents in the Asia Cup over the last week-and-a-half was Haris Rauf's antics on the field, during the training session and the Super Fours match against India. The pacer was seen giving an 'aeroplane crashing down' gesture to the Indian fans, a signal that symbolised Pakistan's claims of having downed multiple Indian fighter jets in the recent showdowns earlier this year. Rauf was subsequently fined by the ICC for provocative behaviour but it wasn't something that the Indian team had forgotten. Jasprit Bumrah dished out a riposte of his own in the Asia Cup final on Sunday (September 28).

Rauf, a tailender, never had any chance of surviving against Bumrah's yorkers. Expectedly, one of them zoomed past his blade to disturb the stumps. Instantly, Bumrah pulled out the 'aeroplane crashing down' celebration to give Rauf a dose of his own medicine. It was subtle from India's strike bowler but was still a statement of sorts to Rauf that his actions were being taken note of. His wicket was Bumrah's first of the night and he capped it off with the wicket of Mohammad Nawaz in the 20th over. Pakistan finished with a hugely underwhelming total of 146 all out when at one point, they were aiming a target of 185-plus.

Suryakumar Yadav opted to bowl at the toss but Pakistan started brilliantly through Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman to set up the base for their side. However, Kuldeep Yadav (4-30), Axar Patel (2-26) and Varun Chakaravarthy (2-30) spun a web around Pakistan whose middle-overs batting was shocking to say the least. From a comfortable 113/1, they self-destructed to 146 all out, undoing all the good work done by Farhan and Zaman.
