Senegal’s Under-17 captain Be Sports Academy midfielder Mouhamed Dabo is set to become a Manchester United star, reports said. Mouhamed Dabo, who currently plays for the side in Senegal, had earlier attended a Barcelona trial but is almost certain to arrive at Old Trafford despite the interest from La Masia still unhindered. Be Sport Academy president has already reached England to confirm the transfer deal with the Premier League side, the report said.

Dabo, who has yet to make his senior debut, appeared 14 times for Bsport’s Under-21s last season, mainly as a defensive midfielder. If the deal is confirmed, Dabo will become Manchester United’s second midfield acquisition from Africa after Malian Sekou Kone from Mali's Jean-Marc Gillou Academy.

As per a report, despite their recent midfield woes, Mouhamed Dabo is highly unlikely to break into the United senior team immediately. The transfer was boosted after United coaches got greatly impressed by the teenager during a trial. The ball control, vision, progressive passing and pace control Dabo showcased forced the United staff to take the necessary steps to get him as soon as possible, African sports outlets reportedly said.

Mouhamed Dabo, who is currently on trial at Carrington, has been a prized jewel of African football fans on social media for some time now. He is one to look out for in the future with immaculate defensive prowess, physical attributes, vision, composure, and relentless workrate, they argue. Getting to lead the national team underlines his leadership quality -- all qualities that top teams prefer in a modern midfielder.
Dabo fell on Barcelona's radar after he was allowed a 15-day trial along with Malick Cisse by the club’s Chief Scout in Africa Moussa Kone. They were beneficiaries of the Catalan side’s outreach programme to identify young talent through collaborations with football academies in strategic countries such as Ghana, Mali, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast. Reports later claimed that Barca took its sweet time to get back to the duo, which forced them to look for other options as well. It was also reported that Barcelona were categorically warned that if they did not act quickly, they would risk losing both African prodigies to other European clubs.
