In 2012, legendary cricketers Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag played together for the last time in the fourth test match against Australia at Adelaide Oval. In a proud moment, fourteen years later, their sons are on the same path as their fathers in the upcoming one-day series against Australia.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee has announced two squads for the multi-format series. Rahul Dravid’s youngest son Anvay Dravid and Virender Sehwag’s eldest son Aryavir Sehwag have been named only for the upcoming one-day series and will play against the visitors at Rajkot for three one-day matches.
For 18-year-old Aryavir, this is his maiden call-up. He is currently playing in the Delhi Premier League. Meanwhile, 17-year-old Anvay has retained his place in the squad and was part of the Sri Lanka tour last month. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 14 and 87 in the two U-19 one-day test matches he played during the tour.
Lakshya Raichandani has been named the captain of the one-day unit and Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan will lead the multi-day series.

The players for the India U-19 squad multi-day fixtures are: Yashbardhan Chauhan (C), Lakshya Raichandani (VC), Manav Krishna (WK), Abhipray Biswas (WK), Sagar Virk, Kushagra Ojha, Manal Chauhan, Kush Patel, Rohit Yadav, Ishan Om, Ayaan Akram, Pranav Ragavendra, Priyanshu Singh, Mohit Ulva, Aryan Yadav.
Though 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi remains eligible for the U-19 series, he has not been named in the series. It seems that India’s selectors are building a fresh squad as Suryavanshi’s growing commitments continue to gain him more exposure in domestic and potentially international matches.
The U-19 teams of India and Australia will face off in a three-match one-day series and two multi-day series. The series will be held in Gujarat. The three one‑day matches and the opening multi-day fixture will be hosted in Rajkot, while the second multi‑day game will be hosted in Ahmedabad.
