Former England captain Michael Vaughan has had a tumultuous relationship with Indian cricket fans on Twitter, often ticking them off with his observations on the national side.
Recently, the 46-year-old said that the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians was a better team than India, highlighting the number of MI players in the side.
During India’s tour Down Under, Vaughan predicted that the team would lose all formats against Australia. However, his prediction fell flat as India went on to win the T20I series and retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy after beating the home team 2-1 in the four-match Test series.
India have made remarkable comebacks after facing setbacks in recent tours. In the ongoing tour, after losing to England in the first Test in Chennai, the Virat Kohli-led side bounced back to win the series 3-1. India found itself it he backfoot again after England took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series. The national side went on to win the series 3-2.
Ahead of the three-match ODI series, Vaughan predicted that India will sweep the series 3-0 as neither Jofra Archer nor Joe Root are playing.
Early One day series prediction .... India will win 3-0 !!! No Root or Archer ... #INDvENG

While some, like former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, trolled the ex-England skipper for his tweet, others were worried if Vaughan would be wrong this time as well and jinx the Indian team.

I fear this tweet may have hampered our chances of a series win

Problem with your prediction is that usually it's completely wrong. So now I'm worried.
