Lionel Messi has finally broken his silence over rumours of a possible shift to Inter. The Barcelona forward has been linked to a move away to the Italian side where he could again clash against nemesis Ronaldo, who plays for Juventus. Messi has now dismissed all rumour, calling them fake news. Messi released reports out to Argentine media that he was not looking to move to Inter.

The Argentine was further angered by reports that he had paid for forer Barcelona teammate Ronaldinho’s bail. Ronaldinho and his brother were arrested in Paraguay after being found with fake passports. They are now under house arrest after being released from jail. The duo were released after paying a substantial amount for bail. The sudden payment led to speculations that Messi might have lent a helping hand, which he denied.

There have been many rumours that the Barcelona ace was looking to shift outfits during the summer transfer window whenever it opens. Former Inter president Moratti had told reporters that Inter signing Messi wasn’t a forbidden dream. He said that the world would witness ‘strange’ things by the end of the year. This had led to widespread speculations that Messi could have had a backdoor talk with the stakeholders at Inter.

All that being said, the transfer window in the summer will give answers to a lot of rumours floating around. FIFA is looking at lengthening the transfer window so as to give clubs the time to arrange for finances. Most leagues across Europe have been suspended amidst the COVID-19 outbreak. With gametime coming to nill, all clubs have taken a backseat financially. Spending money at this time to get new players would be an uphill task for even the biggest of clubs. A longer transfer window could give clubs enough time to work out their finances.
