Dileep's latest release Bha Bha Ba continues to be the most trending topic in Malayalam cinema this week, though not for the right reasons. The mass masala entertainer directed by debutant Dhananjay Shankar has Mohanlal in an important extended cameo and the superstar's presence helped Bha Bha Ba to get a strong start on the opening day.
However, the film has shown a very discouraging trend since then. After a huge fall of 55 percent on its second day, Bha Bha Ba showed further drop on its third day which was a Saturday. As per early estimates, the fourth day (Sunday) will cross Saturday's collections probably, but that shall count for little, given that it is still set to be below Friday's numbers.
Trends suggest another Rs 3 crore day for the film and Sunday could end with figures of around Rs 3.25-3.50 crore. If the drop on the second day wasn't so big, this flat trend across the next three days wouldn't have been of much worry. Bha Bha Ba, though, fell from a Rs. 7.20 crore opening day to barely Rs 3.50 crore on Day 2.

The film is carrying high costs and therefore, needed a much bigger weekend. The only hope now is for Bha Bha Ba to sustain at similar levels to the weekend across the coming weekdays. It is vacation time in Kerala due to Christmas and New Year, so the season is lucrative for mass masala entertainers to thrive. Especially when there is barely any competition as is the case with Bha Bha Ba now.
However, the negative trending across the last three days suggest a very tough road ahead for Bha Bha Ba. It could fall apart dramatically from Monday onwards and if that is the case, it will end as a disaster at the box office. All eyes will now be on Monday's figure and whether it can hold steadily.
The four-day Kerala collections of Bha Bha Ba will be around Rs 17.50 crore gross.
