Rihanna has a known love for sports. Sportstars, in turn, love her. Whenever she attends a match, it makes headlines not just for her presence but for the clothes she wears, the stars she charms, and sometimes, the causes she espouses.

The Barbadian singer was recently seen cheering for team West Indies at their match against Sri Lanka. She tweeted a picture of herself donning the official team West Indies cap, saying that she was representing Barbados and the team.

She dressed for the occasion too, in sparkling cricket whites, apparently part of a Fenty’s collection according to Vogue, and packed a cricket bat.

During the match, she enthralled fans with the way she cheered for her team.

You know Rihanna is the show stopper of the match when even the ICC takes the time out to shout out her 2008 single.

Despite all of this, the star was unable to lift the fortunes of the West Indies team, who put up a valiant fight but ended up losing the match by 23 runs. Both Sri Lanka and the West Indies are no longer eligible to qualify for the semi-finals. The Windies chances of becoming the dark horse of the tournament have sadly been dashed.

Not one to dwell on a defeat, Rihanna met up with Windies star players like Chris Gayle and Carlos Braithwaite after the match and got her cricket bat autographed by the legends.

Rihanna is known to frequent high-profile sports matches. Whether it is basketball, cricket, football (American or international), the Olympics or Tennis, Rihanna can be seen lighting up the viewer gallery with her inimitable style.

A regular at PSG matches, Rihanna attracted the likes of Neymar, who skipped out on his own award-ceremony to hang with ‘badgirlri’.

The West Indies cricket team comprises players from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Parts of Saint Kitts and  Nevis, Saint Kitts and Nevis, the British Overseas Territories of Anguilla, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands, the Dutch constituent country of Sint Maarten, and the US Virgin Islands.
