IPL 2019: RCB's 'sweet sambar' tweet gets 'lovely' reply from CSK

The schedule for the first two weeks of the 12 edition of the Indian Premier League was released on Monday. Teams and fans are gearing up for a spectacular showdown between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Instead of waiting to start the banter on field, RCB drew first blood with a tweet, calling their match against Chennai “spicy south Indian derby” and preferring “the sweet sambar”.

“A spicy south Indian Derby for starters - but we prefer the sweet sambar... Our VIVO IPL 2019 begins away from Bengaluru on Day 1 #PlayBold,” tweeted RCB.

However, Chennai Super Kings gave a roaring comeback to the tweet with this epic reply: “But sambar is always #Yellove in colour no?”.

Fans wasted no time in praising CSK's sense of humour and continued the banter with RCB fans over who will take the IPL title this time and whether sambar is 'yellow' or 'red'.

Chennai Super Kings, after completing a two-year-ban, bounced back in last year's IPL to take their third title, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final. Royal Challengers Bangalore, however, ended in the sixth position despite having some great players in their team.
