Rajasthan will host a major regional conference on artificial intelligence this week, as part of India’s run-up to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 that aims to “democratise AI” and bridge the global AI divide.

The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 will be held in Jaipur on January 6, 2026.

It is positioned as a key platform to discuss how AI can support better governance, faster economic growth, innovation, and more inclusive development in the state and beyond.

Senior leaders from the Centre and the state are slated to attend, including Union Electronics & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of State Jitin Prasada, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and state IT & Communication Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore.

The conference is being held alongside Rajasthan DigiFest × TiE Global Summit 2026, underlining the state’s push to become a hub for digital innovation and emerging tech.

Rajasthan and AI

According to the agenda, sessions will cover AI for public service delivery and governance, ethical and responsible AI, and how AI will shape the future of jobs and skills. There will be a focus on Rajasthan’s startup and innovation ecosystem, and on advanced use cases such as Digital Twins and AI-led infrastructure planning.

Speakers are also expected to debate whether AI can help India move from an outsourcing-led IT model to creating world-class intellectual property and products. IIT Jodhpur will bring an academic and research perspective, highlighting how local institutions can build AI solutions that are rooted in Indian realities but competitive globally.

Road to India AI Impact Summit

The Jaipur event is one of several Regional AI Impact Conferences feeding into the India AI Impact Summit 2026, to be hosted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The broader summit, led by the IndiaAI Mission and MeitY, is built around the themes of “democratising AI” and “bridging the AI divide”, with working groups on human capital, safe and trusted AI, inclusion, innovation, science, shared AI resources and AI for economic growth and social good.

Ahead of the summit, MeitY says around 300 pre-summit events are being held worldwide, including dozens of regional and international meetings to capture diverse views from citizens, startups, researchers and policymakers.
