As Iran's war against US-Israel forces reaches its seventh day, a new report claimed on Friday that Russia was helping Tehran by providing vital targeting information.
If the report is to be believed, it signals Russia's unofficial involvement in the war that has spilt over into the wider Middle East, and has led to the closure of the Hormuz Strait.
The Washington Post has alleged that Russian intelligence has been involved in revealing the locations of US military assets—including warships and aircraft—to Iran, citing three officials in the know.
The IDF bombing of Ali Khamenei's underground bunker is one of the latest developments as the war between Iran and US-Israel forces reaches its 7th day.

They added that Moscow's "comprehensive" efforts to leak vital US information to Tehran comes as the Iranian military's reported ability to locate US assets on its own has been degraded over the past few days.
Why it matters
According to Dara Massicot, an expert on the Russian military at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Iran's limited military-grade satellites—and no satellite constellation of its own—could greatly benefit from Russia’s much more advanced space capabilitiesthat it honed amid its years of war against Ukraine.
Nicole Grajewski, who studies Russo-Iranian ties at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center, also pointed out the high-level of “sophistication” in the Iranian retaliatory strikes.
She also noted in the report that the quality of Iran’s strikes appeared to have improved, even from its 12-day war with Israel last year.
The report, however, stated that the full extent of Russia's alleged involvement in the war has not yet been determined.
Moscow is one of the few countries, apart from China, which have publicly denounced the war. However, China did not appear to be helping Iran's defence in any way despite the two nations being allies, the report noted, citing two other officials in the know.
Notably, neither China nor Russia have publicly confirmed any kind of involvement in the war.

According to the latest update from the US military's Central Command (CENTCOM), dated March 2, six service members have been killed in action so far.
This comes as both sides continue to attack each other at full swing: Iran retaliating for the death of a significant part of its top brass, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and US-Israel trying to destabilise Tehran completely.
