The student who shot several people at a high school outside Bangkok on Friday, killing at least six people and wounding several others, was caught on camera running through the building corridor.
The shooting happened at the Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province northwest, Royal Thai Police spokesperson Trairong Piwpan told AP. Three students and three teachers have reportedly been killed in the shooting. The shooter, believed to a 14-year-old student of the school, reportedly, shot himself afterwards.
The video shows the student in a purple sportswear and carrying a black bag. Other images also show a firearm and ammunition on the ground. Clips showing students hiding under tables and chairs are also circulating on social media.
According to the police, the shooter fired at least 26 bullets and was found with 34 ammunition rounds.
"We rushed up and found that the perpetrator had shot himself in the right side of the head and collapsed. When we got up there, we checked his pulse; he still had one, so we started CPR," said Kiatikhun Verapongpradith, an emergency worker, to Reuters. Following this, the suspect was taken to the hospital.
The rescuers found a male teacher dead on an upper floor of the school. In another room, they found a female teacher with wounds in her chest and arms.
Reports indicate that 15 people have been injured. Emergency workers added that the victims were suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest, back and arms.
The Thai police said that the suspected student allegedly shot his grandparents dead at their residence before attacking his school. Police believe that the firearm used in the shooting belonged to his grandfather.
The investigation is ongoing, and the motive behind the attack is still unclear.
