Kerala: 4 arrested for trying to molest foreign tourists in Idukki

Four men have been arrested for trying to assault and molest four foreign tourists in Muniyarakunnu near Rajakumari in Kerala's Idukki district.

The accused are Nidhin Roy (22), from Keerithode, Shinu Sebastian (32) from Pottankadu, Rajesh (30) from Bison Valley and Sreekanth (24) of Muttukadu. The first three are private bus workers.

According to the police, the incident occurred during a statewide vehicle strike last week. The group, who were drunk, tried to attack the women and molest them. Three of the women tourists were from Argentina while one was from England.

The women managed flee the gang and took shelter in nearby houses.

The police filed a case after a private resort where the women were staying lodged a complaint. The accused have been granted bail.
