Vijay's TVK has finally received enough numbers to prove its majority in the Tamil Nadu assembly as the Congress, CPI, CPI(M) and VCK have extended support to the party.

The TVK has 108 seats but needs 10 more to reach the majority mark of 118 in the 234-member assembly. The Congress has five MLAs-elect while the two Left parties and the VCK have two each. This means the TVK-led coalition would have 119 members in the upcoming assembly if the governor invites them to form government.

Governor Rajendra Arlekar is set to meet Vijay at 6 pm. This would be Vijay's third meeting with the governor at Lok Bhavan in three days, but he was sent back after not gaining support from enough MLAs-designate.

The Congres was the first DMK ally to extend support to TVK, drawing flak from the Dravidian party. The IUML refused to leave the DMK-led SPA alliance.

At one point, there were rumours about AIADMK and DMK considering an alliance with the TVK.

However, things took a turn when the CPI on Friday offered unconditional support to Vijay. Meanwhile, CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby has revealed that the Left partiess do not want a president rule in Tamil Nadu.
