In a shocking case of brutality, a 19-year-0ld was allegedly tortured and nearly set ablaze by her live-in partner in Gurugram. According to the police, the suspect physically assaulted the victim before attempting to set her on fire with sanitiser.
The woman, originally from Tripura, was undergoing treatment at Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital.

The accused has been identified as Shivam, a native of Delhi. An FIR was filed invoking charges under sections 115, 118(1), 118(2), 127(2), 69 and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.
After pouring the sanitiser, the accused allegedly attempted to set the woman's private parts on fire. The man even shot a video during the gruesome act, reported ANI.
The victim was living in a PG accommodation in Gurugram's Sector 69 when she got in touch with the accused. They had met through an app and had been in a living-together relationship.
Earlier this week, on February 16, the woman faced assault so brutal from Shivam that she had to be rushed to a nearby hospital. Reportedly, she was then attacked using a steel bottle and also smashed her head against a wall.
The man also hit her head with an earthen pot before allegedly attempting to set her private parts on fire.
The incident was brought to the attention of the police by her mother, whom she contacted from the hospital. According to the police, she used the accused's phone to detail her ordeal. Since she spoke in her native language, the accused was not able to understand what she was saying. Later, her mother alerted the police.
