The Jammu and Kashmir Police's State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday detained a man in connection with the November 10 blast near Delhi's Red Fort, that killed at least ten people.
Identified as Tufail Niyaz Bhat, an electrician from Srinagar's Batamaloo area, he has been suspected of involvement in the 'white collar' terror module.
Though Bhat's role in the blast has not yet been revealed to the public, a local CID official told Hindustan Times that there was now concrete evidence linking the electrician to the blast (and its planning).
The case so far
A Delhi court on Saturday has allowed Jasir Bilal Wani (alias Danish), another of the prime accused in the case, to meet his lawyer at the NIA headquarters.
Wani was arrested in Srinagar by the NIA on November 17 for allegedly providing technical support for the terror attack by modifying drones and attempting to make rockets.
This follows the arrest of four prime accused in the 'white collar' terror module by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Srinagar on Thursday, which has brought the total arrest tally in the case to six.
The four suspects were soon produced before the District Sessions Judge at the Patiala House Court, after which they were sent to ten days' NIA custody.
The four—identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Shaheen Saeed, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay—were suspected of links to a "terror" module, and were also reportedly linked to the seizure of almost 3,000kg of explosives at Haryana's Faridabad.
Jasir Bilal Wani, as well as Amir Rashid Ali (in whose name the car driven by Dr Umar un Nabi in the blast was registered), are the other accused who have been arrested so far.
