What the CPI(ML) Liberation did in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections is being repeated by Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) five years later — latest trends indicate. The Chirag Paswan-led NDA ally is slowly emerging as the party with the best strike rate among all those in the fray.

When Bihar went to the polls last time, Paswan had walked out from the NDA and went on a kamikaze mission against Nitish Kumar's JD(U) — which proved to have cost the Chief Minister dearly when the results were out. While maintaining fidelity to Narendra Modi, Chirag did not field nominees against any BJP candidate, and later returned to the NDA fold. Thus, he entered this election with a point to prove — and it appears he just did.

After negotiating hard for more seats in the alliance than what other smaller parties were getting, what he managed to secure was the most by any after the JD(U) and BJP. This was no nominal feat, as Paswan had to hold his ground during multiple rounds of talks and discussions until favourable terms were agreed upon by Nitish and other alliance leaders. It is noteworthy that Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM and Upendra Kushwaha's RLM were allotted only six seats each.
The BJP-led NDA appeared to register a landslide victory in Bihar, opening up impressive leads in more than 180 of the state's 243 Assembly seats, with early trends also indicating that the saffron party was on track to post its biggest tally with an excellent strike rate. Despite LJPRV's tremendous show, its strike rate is marginally behind that of both BJP and JDU.
