Amity University law student assaulted by five, including woman: How the incident unfolded

An Amity University law student, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, was brutally assaulted inside a vehicle on campus, an incident captured in a widely circulated video

A law student belonging to Amity University was brutally assaulted inside a vehicle on the campus. A video of the incident, which has gone viral, showed the student being slapped repeatedly on his face by a woman while a few other male students are heard abusing him.

The victim, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, reportedly arrived at the campus with a woman, identified as Soumya Singh Yadav. When they arrived at the parking lot on the campus, a few others entered the vehicle, saying they wanted to talk to him, and began assaulting him.

According to the victim's father, the assault on the student went on for 45 minutes, and the accused even threatened to kill him. 

Two of the accused recorded the incident and circulated the videos on the campus. The father said the accused also broke his son's phone.

In the video, the woman is seen beating up the student asking him to put his hand down when he tries to shield his face from the blows. 

While the exact reason for the assault is not known, the woman is heard asking, "Kya bola tha tumne (what did you say)? Character? Character?"

The incident happened on August 16, and according to his father, it left him traumatised and he hasn't been to college ever since.

According to the police, a complaint has been registered, and five students have been named in the FIR.
