Two days after a class 10 student was stabbed to death by his classmate at a school in Ahmedabad, screenshots of a chilling chat the accused had with one of his friends surfaced on social media.
The victim, Nayan Santani, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Tuesday evening, sparking massive protests by parents and locals.

In the alleged Instagram chat with his friend, the authenticity of which could not be independently verified, the accused teenager was seen confessing to the crime and revealing what prompted him to take that step.
When the friend asked him if he had stabbed someone that day, the accused replied, ‘Yes’. The friend then informed him that the victim had died.
The ensuing chat went as follows.
Friend: What actually happened?
Accused: Arrey, he (the victim) asked me, “Who are you and what will you do?” etc.
Friend: *****, You can’t stab someone to death for this. You could have just beaten him up, not killed him.
Accused: Whatever happened has happened.
Friend: Take care of yourself. Go underground for some time. Delete these chats.
Accused: Ok.
On Wednesday, hundreds of people, comprising the victim’s family and members of the Sindhi community which he belonged to, staged a protest in front of the school, demanding action against the administration. They also blocked the road and shouted slogans against the police.
The mob also allegedly damaged the school buses, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers parked at the institute.

The protesters alleged that six to seven people had helped the accused student in the crime and that the school administration destroyed evidence by summoning a water tanker. Police said they would verify their claim.
The protest also took a communal colour since the accused student belonged to a minority community.
