Lucknow University Professor Ravi Kant, who called spiritual leader Baba Bageshwar alias Dhirendra Krishna Shastri a 'woman trafficker', was booked by Bamitha police in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The FIR registered against Ravi Kant said he allegedly hurt religious sentiments by making derogatory remarks. Ravi Kant was booked under BNS Section 353(2). The complaint was filed by Dhirendra Kumar Gaur, a member of the Bageshwar Dham Committee.

Gaur accused Ravi Kant of defaming Baba Bageshwar and hurting religious sentiments of millions of believers.

Ravi Kant's post came after a video purportedly showed Chhatarpur police stopping an ambulance transporting a group of women. Reports claimed that the women were residing at the Bageshwar Dham and they were concealing their real identities. However, there was no official confirmation about the incident.

Baba Bageshwar alleged that there have been attempts to defame the Dham, saying he is fighting against the biggest disease in the country, which is casteism. "When you walk the path of truth and service, such accusations are bound to come your way."

He said the Dham is holding a Padyatra from November 7 to 16, which has caused "stomach aches" for some people. "We won't wave from our resolve," he asserted.

In Bhopal, Shastri on Monday said Hindus should not be divided even though there are fights over language and regions. "Some forces want to create 'Ghazwa-e-Hind', but our only dream is it should be 'Bhagwa-e-Hind'. We have a problem with those Hindus who divide us in the name of caste."

Responding to the Malegaon blast case, he said when the incident happened, a story was scripted behind the scenes and it was called "saffron terrorism". This was intended to defame saffron and Sanatan but eventually it was proved such a thing does not exist.
