Amid the controversy surrounding the Pune Porsche car crash incident, NCP MLA Sunil Tingre has denied rumours that he intervened to save the teen accused on the night of the incident from the police station.

According to Tingre, the accused's father Vishal Agarwal rang him after the incident, stating that the vehicle his son drove met with an accident.

The Porsche car, allegedly driven by the 17-year-old, who the police claim was drunk at the time, fatally knocked down two motorbike-borne software engineers at Kalyani Nagar in Maharashtra's Pune city in the early hours of Sunday.

The teenager, the son of a real estate developer, was subsequently produced before the Juvenile Justice Board which granted him bail hours later.

The MLA added that as a responsible public representative, he went to the spot and then to Yerwada police station. "I left there after giving instructions that strict legal action should be taken against the accused. Even the police officials will admit that I did not put any pressure on the police. That is why a case was registered and further court proceedings were also conducted without delay," the MLA added.

He added that the social media posts and allegations which state otherwise were aimed at tarnishing his image.

Meanwhile, the Juvenile Justice Board has issued a notice to a 17-year-old accused. This came as the Pune police approached the board with a petition to review its bail order.

The board heard the revision petition at around 12 noon at its office in Yerawada area here.

Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil, the police approached the session court with a revised petition stating that challenging the bail order and seeking permission to allow them to treat the body as an adult saying the crime committed was "heinous". However, the court asked the police to approach the Juvenile Justice Board with a petition to review the order.
