The BJP's catchy slogan ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is centred on the removal of Article 370 in Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his partymen that the BJP aims to win 370 seats in upcoming polls and cross the 400-mark alongside its NDA allies.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP marshalled over 11,500 party workers for a two-day national convention in Delhi. The attendees included all office-bearers, elected MPs, MLAs, corporators and state-level workers.

Speaking during the office bearers's meeting at Pragati Maidan's Bharat Mandapam, PM Modi said the aim of the party should be to win 370 seats. The booth-level workers should aim to get 370 more votes per booth.

"The 370 is not just a number but a tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee who campaigned for the removal of Article 370," Modi said.

In another pragmatic message that will help the party tide over any internal dissensions during the ticket distribution, Modi declared the party's lotus symbol as the candidate. He asked all the workers to be proactive for the next 100 days during which they should reach out to the beneficiaries of central government schemes.

Apart from beneficiaries, the BJP  would target first-time voters and women. The BJP coined a new acronym to show its focus: GYAN, which stands for 'Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata, Nari Shakti.'

"Women are not just voters for us. We will work to get blessings from them as our government has worked for it," BJP general secretary Vinod Tawade said quoting Modi.

The Prime Minister in his speech added that there has not even a single allegation of corruption in the last 10 years. It has been the same during his tenure as Gujarat chief minister as well, he said. "Cadre should take this message to the people."

The BJP will also focus on its pro-poor programmes and the rising graph of India globally.

During the two-day convention, the party will pass three political resolutions including one on the Ram Temple -- marking a nearly four-decade journey since the party passed a resolution on temple construction in its national executive in Palampur.

The venue was decorated with images of government schemes, Ram Temple cutouts and selfie points. The party has also put up an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Modi government.

BJP chief JP Nadda also spoke during the convention. He said the party has undergone a long arduous journey. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi the party has witnessed many achievements, he said.

Nadda said India will rise to newer heights including becoming the third-largest economy during the Modi government's third tenure.

Nadda gave figures for the BJP's expansion across the country. He countered the contention that the BJP had a limited presence in the South. He said Congress had 28 MPs while the BJP had 29.
