Amazon Studios has released the teaser of Madden, the biopic of former Oakland Raiders coach John Madden, starring Nicolas Cage in the titular role and Christian Bale as ex-Raiders owner Al Davis. The film comes from director David O. Russell ("The Silver Linings Playbook", "American Hustle"). It marks Cage's first collaboration with the director and Bale's fourth collaboration after The Fighter, American Hustle, and Amsterdam.

According to the official press release, the sports drama revolving around the football legend will chronicle the journey of the football legend "from Super Bowl glory with the Raiders to revolutionizing the game with Madden NFL."

While Cage is easily recognisable despite putting on heavy prosthetics and makeup to emulate the look of Madden closely, it's Bale who looks nearly unrecognisable, as he did in films like The Machinist, The Fighter, and American Hustle.

Written and directed by Russell, Madden also features actors such as John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, and comedian Shane Gillis.

A multifaceted name in the field of sports, Madden worked as a coach, broadcaster, and influential cultural figure. During his stint as head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1969 to 1978, he led the team to a Super Bowl XI victory and achieved one of the highest winning percentages in NFL history. After retiring from coaching, he took up sports commentary and quickly became noted for his enthusiastic delivery and clear, vivid narration of games.
