Actress-politician Vijayashanthi, who resigned from the BJP and joined the Congress on Friday, has been appointed as the party's Chief Coordinator of the Campaign and Planning Committee for the upcoming Telangana assembly polls.
In a blow for the BJP in the state, the veteran actress and former MP rejoined the Congress in the presence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
