Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced provision of total Rs 2300 crores for three new initiatives on occasion of ‘Chhattisgarh Gaurav Diwas’ programme organised in Raipur to mark completion of four years of the Congress government in the state.

Among the initiatives announced by the CM include 'Mukhyamantri Vriksh Sampada'—a tree plantation and conservation scheme, for which Rs 100 crores have been earmarked. Rs 1,000 crores have been pledged for the maintenance and upgrading of all schools, hostels, ashrams and government buildings, while Rs 1,200 crore have been marked for the 'Swami Atmanand Excellent ITI Scheme' which aims to improve the level of technical education by upgrading the industrial training institutions in the state.

The  programme was organized at the historic Town Hall of Raipur and Baghel addressed the gathering virtually, highlighting the achievements and successful initiatives of the state government in the last 4 years.

"Soon after the formation of the government, the farm loans were waived off, giving a huge relief to the farmers of the state. Farmers in Chhattisgarh are now getting the highest price of paddy in the whole country. The state government is implementing schemes for every section of society—from farmers to landless agri-labourers. First-of-its-kind schemes have been launched by the government including Godhan Nyay Yojana for purchasing cow dung," the CM said.

"The schemes of the government have directly benefited the common people and brought prosperity in their lives. We are moving forward in the direction of fulfilling the dreams of our forefathers of a 'developed and prosperous Chhattisgarh'. Work is being done for the welfare of every section of society including farmers, laborers, youth, women, and the elderly. The government is committed to the inclusive development of the state," Baghel said.

The chief minister congratulated and extended best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of 'Gaurav Diwas'.

Raipur North MLA Kuldeep Juneja, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Collector Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Municipal Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi along with other public representatives, and a large number of common people were present in the programme.

Baghel also virtually inaugurated two developmental works worth Rs 3.83 crores and conducted groundbreaking ceremony for 12 works worth Rs 30.13 crores including Sant Shiromani Guru Ghasidas Baba Memorial and Museum in Nava Raipur to be built at a cost of Rs 4.86 crores and building of school cum coaching center for SC category students to be built at a cost of Rs 9.39 crores in Parsada village of Durg district.

Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration and Development Minister Shiv Kumar Dahriya, Chief Minister's Advisor Rajesh Tiwari, Chhattisgarh State Food Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Ram Gopal Agarwal, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, and senior officers were present at the residence office of chief minister and virtually participated in the ‘Gaurav Diwas’ celebrations with him.

Later, the chief minister garlanded a portrait of 'Chhattisgarh Mahtari' (the mother Chhattisgarh symbol of state) at the Collectorate Square and distributed vegetables to the poor.

He sought the blessings of ‘Chhattisgarh Mahtari’ for the prosperity of the state and for the happiness, peace, and well-being of the people of the state.
