The ongoing probe into the brutal murder of a tailor, Kanhaiya Lal, in Udaipur over social media posts in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma revealed that one of the killers, Riyaz Akhtari, paid an additional Rs 5,000 to get the Mumbai terror attack date 26/11 (2611) as his bike number plate. He had secured the number in 2013.

The terror attacks in Mumbai took place on November 26 and referred to as 26/11 in general.

According to media reports, the killers used the same bike while trying to flee after the murder.

The bike, with the number RJ 27 AS 2611, is in police custody. NDTV reports that police sources confirmed that the accused had asked for the sinister number and paid money for it.

The bike was reportedly purchased in 2013 and its insurance expired the next year.

Meanwhile, two more people have been arrested on Thursday night in connection with the murder. The arrested accused were identified as Mohsin and Asif.

Lal was killed Tuesday afternoon by two cleaver-wielding men, Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad, who posted a grisly video of the crime online claiming responsibility for the beheading. Both the accused were arrested in Rajsamand hours after the crime.

The case is being investigated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) with support of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police.
