Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday claimed the BJP was in panic mode in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls. Akhilesh attacked the state's ruling party after casting his vote in Saifai, Etawah district, in the third phase of polling.
Akhilesh was quoted by ANI as saying, “Public is unhappy with BJP and this time the elections are about removing it from Uttar Pradesh. They (BJP) are anxious that the public is angry with them, so their language and behaviour has changed.”
Akhilesh targeted the Yogi Adityanath government on a key talking point of the BJP: Law and order. Akhilesh said, “A businessman's son was kidnapped in Agra and killed days later. Was the UP CM sleeping? Will he be able to fix responsibility and punish the culprit? He could not even join the expressway in Gorakhpur. Baba CM (referring to Adityanath) does not want to do or see any good.”
He accused the BJP of using fake images to showcase development in the state.

Akhilesh refuted claims by Union Minister Anurag Thakur who claimed the Samajwadi Party had links to the perpetrators of the serial blasts in Ahmedabad in 2008.
