NCP leader and Maharashtra cabinet minister Nawab Malik has been levelling allegations against the Narcotics Control Bureau on a near-daily basis over the arrest of Aryan Khan.
Many of these allegations were targeted at Sameer Wankhede, NCB zonal director.
On Monday, Malik tweeted an image of a document that appeared to be a birth certificate with the name of the child 'Sameer' and the parents having Muslim names. Malik tweeted "Sameer Dawood Wankhede" and hinted the document showed the beginning of fraud.
Local media reported that Malik was alleging Wankhede had forged a caste certificate to get reservation in the civil services and jobs. Malik also tweeted a photograph of Wankhede from several years ago, which some reports said dated back to the IRS officer's first marriage.

Wankhede responded strongly to the claims by Malik. NDTV quoted Wankhede as saying, "This is a shoddy attempt to bring in things that are unrelated to (the drugs case). My mother was Muslim... (why) does he want to bring my dead mother into this? To verify my caste and background anyone can visit my native place and verify my descent from my great-grandfather. But he should not spread this filth like this. I will fight all this legally and don't want to comment too much on this out of court."
Previously, Malik had accused Wankhede of being a "parrot" of the BJP and even targeting Bollywood figures for extortion.
